Beef Products Under Recall Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

3,420 pounds of beef meatballs products are under recall due to a possible Listeria contamination. The states affected by the recall are: Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. The lot code on the packaging is: 15507351. According to growing scientific evidence, vinyl gloves aren't all that safe to use in food preparation operations. Vinyl gloves are made with a synethic plastic polymer that has a significant amount of chlorine. As a result, vinyl gloves have been linked with pollution and adverse health effects. The cause of the E. coli outbreak that has sickened 59 people in the US and Canada is still unknown, but romaine lettuce appears to be the likely culprit. Currently, the CDC does not require food service workers to be vaccinated for the Hepatitis A virus. This is a missed opportunity on the CDC's part to help reduce foodborne illness. In San Diego last year, 577 people were sickened due to Hepatitis A. 20 people died and 396 people were hospitalized. This could have been prevented if....
