It’s National Food Safety Education Month, and this September the National Restaurant Association and ServSafe are helping us create a “Recipe For Success” in our operations! Building a strong food safety culture is the foundation of preventing foodborne illness. If we aren’t focused on policies and training and practices to keep people safe, we won’t be successful at keeping people safe.
As always, there are lots of tools, resources, and great training tips available on the National Food Safety Education Month website – Week 1 focused on foundations of food safety and food safety culture so that Weeks 2 through 5 can highlight the biggest ways to prevent foodborne illness. Week 2 is all about cleaning and sanitizing with confidence, and week 3 just dropped all the info we need to prevent cross-contamination.
Even when we already have a strong food safety culture, the resources here are designed to reinforce the good practices we already have in place – a great tool to have in your kitchen kit! Get ready for a safe food fall (and beyond) with your staff!
