2026 Food Recall Roundup

It’s the end of February, and it’s time for a Recall Roundup! There have been a number of significant recalls this year, the most recent of which was reported only yesterday.

  • February 19, 2026 – 3 million+ pounds of Chicken Fried Rice recalled across the US and Canada. In the US, the recalled product was sold as Trader Joe’s Chicken Fried Rice, and was pulled for potential glass contamination after 4 customer complaints

  • February 11, 2026 – 22,000 pounds of ground beef were recalled due to risk of E coli contamination; no known reports of illness

  • January 16, 2026 – approximately 14,000 pounds of ready-to-eat cooked chicken breast recalled due to potential adulteration from Listeria. No confirmed cases of illness have been reported.

As Certified Food Protection Managers, ensuring food safety also means staying on top of all recalls and how our product may be affected. Remember, if you are concerned you food may be part of a recall: remove the item from your inventory, label it clearly to not use or throw away, and make sure you follow the next steps on the vendor notification or in the recall information!
