Success at Class -- Tips from Our Instructors!

Our instructors are often asked about ways students can be successful at one of our ServSafe® classes, so we thought we would bring those tips right to you! When you're getting ready to attend one of our ServSafe® Food Protection Manager classes, these are some quick tips for you and your team:

  • Study before class! Whether it's with online study material or with the physical book, reading through the chapters and working through those practice questions helps with vocabulary and content comprehension on the day of class.
  • Get a good night's sleep -- coming to class fully rested will power you through both the class and exam.
  • Bring snacks and drinks -- we do a working lunch at our classes, which means you can enjoy these while we cover the material.
  • Create a ServSafe® account! – if you already have one created, make sure you can log in before day-of-class. If you need to create one, head to servsafe.com and follow the instructions. Please make sure to bring the address and email address associated with the account to class; this will go onto your answer sheet! ServSafe® emails you your grade.
  • Participate in class! Paying attention, asking us questions, and answering review questions are all essential to understanding the material.
  • Don't rush the exam. Take your time to read the test questions fully!
