This holiday weekend make sure to...

  • Wash your hands and wear gloves when handling food.
  • Keep cold foods cold - 41F or below.
  • Keep hot foods hot - 135F or higher.
  • Cook stuffed foods to 165F.
  • Cook injected meats to 155F.
  • Cook steaks and chops to 145F.
  • Cook vegetables and starches to 135F.
  • If your food has been left out at room temperature (70F) for two hours or more, make sure to throw the food away.
  • Cool food as quickly as possible. You must reach 70F after two hours of cooling and then 41F after four hours of cooling. 
  • Use leftovers within 3-4 days.
  • Reheat leftovers to 135F.
